One moulded cord set therefore covers a combined order, which is why distributors in Prague and Bratislava habitually quote the two markets together. The electrical file is the ordinary European one — low voltage, EMC and RoHS, plus the requirement under (EU) 2019/1020 that an economic operator inside the Union be identified on the product or its packaging. None of that is unusual; it is the same file a German or Austrian buyer asks for.

What is not shared is the paperwork the salon actually reads. Czech and Slovak are separate official languages, and while the two are mutually intelligible in conversation, the manual and the safety instructions have to be supplied in the language of the country where the unit is placed on the market. The technical vocabulary diverges more than buyers expect — a wax heater is an ohřívač vosku in Czech and an ohrievač vosku in Slovak, and the temperature-control terms differ too. They drift, and the drift is easy to misdiagnose because the technician compensates before anyone notices. Five components account for nearly all of it.

The heating element collects a carbonized film of wax at the interface with the inner pot. Cold-start time lengthens week by week, then a hot spot appears and the room starts to smell. The thermostat or controller is the second: a bimetallic thermostat widens its swing after a year of eight-hour days, so the pot runs hot at the rim and cool in the middle. The symptom is not a fault code — it is a technician turning the dial up, which is where scorched wax, snapped strips and rework begin. The dial or knob lets wax in through the shaft and stiffens, then stops responding. The inner pot coating wears through under metal spatulas, leaving bare aluminum, staining and uneven heat. The cord set and plug is the part most often destroyed by the room itself: chair legs, cleaning trolleys, a cable pulled instead of lifted. A missing lid, finally, is not a spare part but a heat and dust problem that shows up as a skin on the wax.

None of these is a manufacturing defect, and saying so plainly is what makes the spares conversation possible. The customer is not buying a promise that nothing breaks; they are buying a promise that a break costs a day rather than a fortnight.

The kit: one per ten units, itemized

Our standing recommendation for a first order is a service kit at roughly one per ten heaters, held by the distributor rather than the salon. The ratio is not applied evenly across parts, because failures are not evenly distributed: for every ten units, plan two heating elements, two thermostats or controllers, two dials, two inner pots, one cord set and one lid. That weighting follows observed failure frequency, not the bill of materials.

Why the distributor holds it: a single-owner salon cannot justify stock, and cannot wait three weeks for a part from Asia while its only pot is out of service. A distributor with 300 units in the field and thirty kits on a shelf can cover the whole installed base with a same-week swap, and can bill the part instead of writing off a warranty claim. On a 230 V build the same components serve Czechia, Slovakia, Poland, Austria and Germany, so the stock turns across five markets instead of one — which is what makes the ratio affordable in the first place.

Two pots, two set points — the configuration that lets one room run a 45–50 °C hard wax and a 55–60 °C film wax without a second technician.

Three questions on the phone

Most returns are decided by a two-minute conversation, and the questions are always the same. Does it heat at all? If not, the element or the supply is the suspect, and the test is a cold-start timing rather than a hand on the housing. Does it hold the set point? If it heats but wanders, the thermostat or controller has drifted and the element is fine — replace the control, not the pot. Is the reading plausible? If the display disagrees with a probe in the wax, the sensor or the board is at fault, and the operator has probably been compensating for weeks.

Everything else — a stiff dial, a scored pot, a damaged cord — is a scheduled swap, not an emergency. Write that triage into the distributor’s onboarding sheet, in Czech and in Slovak, and the same sheet becomes a sales document: it demonstrates that the brand has thought about year two.

A removable inner pot is the difference between a two-minute clean and a pot that goes back to the distributor.

The capacity ladder, mapped to how these rooms work

A brow bar or a facial room runs a 20 ml pot. A single treatment room is served by 180 ml or 250 ml. A working waxing room sits at 400–500 ml, and a high-volume room or a chain standardizes on 800 ml or a twin station at 400/800 ml. A 450 ml pot holds roughly 400 g of beads, which is about one technician’s day — the number that turns a capacity question into a staffing question.

The entry model is the BWW5K: 450 ml, 100 W, a single dial across 30–125 °C, no display, no touch control. It is a genuine workhorse for an experienced operator and a poor first purchase for someone three months into the trade, and saying that out loud tends to settle the specification faster than any datasheet. Above it, chip-controlled units hold their set point much more tightly than a bimetallic thermostat and — more usefully — show what they are doing, which is what converts an invisible drift into a service call the distributor can answer.

What belongs in the purchase order

The model mix by capacity; the voltage and frequency line; the cord set and plug; the manual language, Czech and Slovak as separate items; the service kit ratio and its contents; who registers the units for WEEE collection in each country; the warranty term and, explicitly, the definition of dead-on-arrival versus wear; and the spare parts price list, because a kit quoted after the first failure is a cost, while a kit quoted with the machines is a line item the buyer has already approved.

Ranges and capacities are on the wax heaters page, the branding ladder sits under OEM and ODM, and if the same customer also retails consumables, the wax formulas range belongs on the same quotation — a 450 ml room and a 500 g bag are sold to the same person.

Quick FAQ

      <details class="bt-faq__item">
Can one cord set serve both the Czech and the Slovak market?

Yes. Both countries use 230 V at 50 Hz and the type E socket, with type C accepted in older installations, so a single moulded cord covers a combined order. What cannot be combined is the documentation: Czech and Slovak are separate official languages, so the manual and safety instructions need to exist in both.
</details>
      <details class="bt-faq__item">
How many spare parts should a first order include?

A service kit at roughly one per ten heaters, weighted toward the parts that actually fail: two elements, two thermostats or controllers, two dials, two inner pots, one cord set and one lid for every ten units. Hold it at distributor level rather than in each salon — the installed base can then be served with same-week swaps instead of three-week waits.
</details>
      <details class="bt-faq__item">
Is a chip controller worth the price difference for a small salon?

It depends on hours, not on size. A room running eight hours a day will see a bimetallic thermostat drift within a year, and the visible cost is scorched wax and rework rather than a repair invoice. For a two-day-a-week studio the entry 450 ml single-dial model is a rational choice; for a full-time room the tighter control pays for itself in wax consumption.
</details>

Next step

Send the room mix you are outfitting, the manual languages you need and whether the first order includes a service kit.
