That single number changes how a lamp gets sold here. The person who signs the invoice is the person who stands behind the bench for eight hours, so a specification sheet full of LED counts settles very little. What settles it is a short, repeatable test the owner can run on a demo unit in a quarter of an hour — and a supplier who is willing to have that test written into the order.

136 dual-band emitters, 365–370 nm and 395–400 nm, arranged in zones rather than as one flat array.

A market of owner-operators, not procurement departments

A registry scrape published in April 2026 counts 4,051 nail salons in Poland, up 5.64% since 2023, with 80.28% single-owner operations; Masovian voivodeship alone holds 1,299, Silesia 652 and Lower Silesia 316 (Rentech Digital, April 2026). The same dataset puts the average age of a Polish nail salon at three years and ten months — a young stock of businesses, most of them still inside their first equipment cycle.

The value side tells a different story. Poland’s nail care market is estimated at PLN 1.5–1.8 billion, roughly USD 380–450 million, in 2026, growing 4–6% a year through 2035, with salon-grade products forecast at 6–8% annually as hybrid and gel manicures take share from air-dry lacquer (IndexBox, 2026). The same report notes that more than 70% of supply is sourced from Western European manufacturers, mainly Germany, Italy and France.

Put those two facts together and the sales channel becomes obvious. A single-owner studio does not run a tender; it buys from a distributor it trusts, on the strength of a demo and a price. Which means the argument that wins is not “ours has more LEDs” — every box in the category says something like that. The argument that wins is a measurement the owner can reproduce on her own bench.

4,051

Nail salons in Poland, up 5.64% since 2023, with 80.28% single-owner (Rentech Digital, April 2026)

6–8%

Forecast annual growth for salon-grade nail products, faster than the market overall (IndexBox, 2026)

230 V

50 Hz on type E sockets, with Polish-language instructions required for the CE file

Why a specification sheet cannot settle the purchase

Four lamps on a Polish distributor’s price list will all claim dual-band output, a camera, a touchscreen and a language menu. What differs is how much of that output reaches the nail after the head has run for half an hour, and how much lands on the back of the client’s hand instead. That is measurable before the invoice: a UVA radiometer with a probe matched to the band under test, a strip of matte card to stand in for a hand, and fifteen minutes. Run the four tests below in order and write the readings down.

Test one: is the zone actually a zone

Zoned curing is the claim that matters most here and the easiest to fake, because a lamp that simply turns every emitter on also cures nails. The test is a ratio. Put the probe at a nail position over the card — the camera needs something nail-shaped to see, so a matte card with a small oval marked on it beats an empty cavity — and note the reading. Then move the same probe twenty or thirty millimetres to the side, where the back of the hand sits, and note it again.

A lamp with real zoning gives a high nail-to-hand ratio; a single always-on array gives roughly the same number in both positions. On the AI Smart Nail Lamp the 2-megapixel camera with 0.5 TOPS of on-device compute locates the nail in about 0.2 seconds and drives only the emitters above it. Run the test twice, once with the hand still and once with the fingers slightly apart: if the hand reading climbs sharply on the second run, detection is being fooled by the gaps and the zoning is worth less than the brochure suggests.

Detection is the part that turns a flat array into a zone. Test it with fingers open, not only with a closed hand.

Test two: both bands are doing something

This is where most in-house testing goes wrong. A 365 nm probe is nearly blind to 395–400 nm light, because the filter in front of the sensor is built to pass a narrow band. Measure a dual-band head with a single 365 nm probe and you will conclude the long-wave half is not working — or, worse, you will compare two lamps and pick the one with more short-wave output, which is not the same thing as the one that cures better.

Two ways to handle it. The clean one is a second probe matched to the long-wave band, and two readings per position. The cheap one is to ask the supplier for the spectral power distribution of that specific model and check that both peaks are present at the stated wavelengths, then use the single probe only for relative comparisons between lamps. Either way, the number that goes into an acceptance sheet is irradiance in mW/cm² per band, per position — not a total.

Test three: what is left after thirty minutes

LED output falls as junction temperature rises. On a head with adequate thermal design the fall is small and it plateaus; on a head built to a price it keeps sliding as the evening fills up. Take the same measurement at the first minute, at five minutes and at thirty minutes of continuous running, and compute the percentage drop. Three points on a line are enough to see whether the head has stabilized or is still degrading.

This is also what makes smart heat control visible rather than theoretical. The AI Smart Nail Lamp reports head temperature and flags light decay on the 5.5-inch console, so the technician sees a warning before the gel starts under-curing. Ask what the console does when the warning appears — stop, reduce power, or keep running silently — and get the answer in writing.

Test four: does it come back after cleaning

Dust and cured gel mist on the window in front of the emitters is the quiet cause of “the lamp got weaker” complaints, and it is the one failure mode a salon can fix itself in two minutes. Measure, wipe the window with 70% isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth, let it dry, measure again. If the second reading is materially higher, note it: the lamp will need that wipe weekly, and the manual should say so.

If the second reading is lower, stop. That usually means solvent has reached an unsealed joint or the coating on the window, and it is a design problem no maintenance schedule will solve.

What the Polish file needs, and what goes on the order

Alongside the measurements, the paperwork is short but specific. The lamp is electrical equipment, so the CE route applies: LVD 2014/35/EU, EMC 2014/30/EU and RoHS 2011/65/EU, with a declaration of conformity and a technical file. Under (EU) 2019/1020, in force since 16 July 2021, an economic operator established in the EU must be named on the product or its packaging — normally the Polish importer. Instructions and safety information have to be in Polish. Market surveillance sits with UOKiK, and a missing Polish manual surfaces in a routine check rather than at customs.

Four lines on the order do most of the work: the model number exactly as it appears on the rating plate, the cord set (230 V, 50 Hz, type E moulded plug, not an adapter), the language pack locked on the console, and the four acceptance readings attached as an annex. The console carries 29 interface languages; Polish plus English is the usual pairing for a studio that also serves English-speaking clients.

White-label units — no logo, no retail carton — start at three to five pieces, and a single unit can ship as a paid sample, which is precisely what a fifteen-minute test needs. Full custom branding starts at 300–500 units. Standard units are AC-powered with no battery; a 6,000 mAh pack is available on request for mobile technicians. The full parameter set sits on the AI Smart Nail Lamp product page, and the sample-to-own-brand ladder is set out under OEM and ODM.

Quick FAQ

      <details class="bt-faq__item">
Do we need a radiometer to buy a lamp, or is that overkill for a single studio?

For a single studio, borrow one for an afternoon rather than buying one. The point is not to certify the lamp; it is to compare two demo units on your own bench and to have a baseline reading you can repeat in a year. A distributor serving many studios should own one — it turns a sales conversation into a measurement, and it is the fastest way to show a client why the cheaper lamp feels different after six months.
</details>
      <details class="bt-faq__item">
Our probe reads much lower than the supplier’s published figure. Is the lamp defective?

Usually not. Published figures are quoted at a stated distance, with a stated probe and often on a specific band. Change the distance and the reading changes with the square of it; use a 365 nm probe on a dual-band head and you will only see part of the output. Ask for the test conditions behind the number before concluding anything, and compare like with like.
</details>
      <details class="bt-faq__item">
Can a Polish distributor private-label the lamp without a new CE file?

A new logo and a new carton do not create a new model, so the existing technical file still describes the product. A different housing, a different LED count or an added battery pack does create a new model, and that needs its own assessment. Decide which side of that line your branding sits on before the cartons are printed — and keep the model number on the plate, the carton and the invoice identical.
</details>

Next step

Send us the number of stations, the socket type in the building and the two lamps you are currently comparing, and we will send the model’s irradiance report plus a demo unit so the four tests can be run on your own bench. Sample orders ship from three to five pieces, one unit at a time if that is what the decision needs.
